All faculty, students, and staff are invited to participate in the SUNY-wide
EduTech Day, Teaching, Learning, and Sharing in the Cloud, a collaboration between FIT's EduTech Team and SUNY's FACT2 Faculty Advisory Council on
Teaching and Technology. Click

Registration for the March 16 conference begins December 1, and the deadline for
proposals is January 30, 2012.

All faculty and staff are encouraged to submit break-out session
proposals for FIT's sixth annual sustainable business and design
conference, The Winds of Change: Making Our Mark on Sustainability, held
on March 27, 2012.

SCHEDULE
The Student-Faculty Corporation offers free lunchtime exercise classes
for all faculty and staff:
Monday—Pilates, 1-2 pm, Room BX02
Tuesday—Body Toning, 1-2 pm, Room AX39
Thursday—Yoga, 1-2 pm, Room BX02
Friday—Ethnic Dance Aerobics, 1-2 pm, Room AX39
Fall classes continue through December 16. Locker and shower facilities
are located near the gym area. You may use a locker only during class
time, must bring your own combination lock, and must empty your locker
after class. Portable mats are available for purchase at a discounted price of
$10. Please bring a check, payable to FIT Student Faculty Corporation,
to Human Resources, 236 West 27 Street, 11th floor. For more

SUSTAINABILITY GRANTS AVAILABLE
As a part of the Fashion Institute of Technology/SUNY initiative FIT
Goes Green: Infusing Sustainability into our Culture, an annual fund of
$15,000 was established to support sustainability initiatives at FIT.
The fund is administered by the FIT Sustainability Council. Individual
or group awards are capped at $5,000 per initiative.

DIVERSITY
COUNCIL OFFERS EVENT SUPPORT
An event or
project that fosters inclusion and diversity can carry the council's
stamp of support on promotional materials and be posted on the
campus-wide calendar on the council's website. Complete the
form by the tenth day of the preceding
month to let the council know about your event or project. For more

AFFIRMATIVE ACTION ONLINE TRAINING
FIT employees are required to complete two online training sessions that
fulfill federal Affirmative Action requirements for government
employees. The sessions, Preventing Sexual Harassment and Preventing
Employee Discrimination, take 60 to 90 minutes each, and do not have to
be completed in one sitting. You should complete both sessions by the
last day of the anniversary month in which you were hired (for example,
if you were hired on November 15, complete the training by November 30).

Dates for technology training have been announced. Sign up for
technology training or consulting on FIT systems such as the portal,
email, MS Office, web files, and more on the

EMERGENCY MESSAGING SIGN-UP
Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to register online for FIT's
emergency alert system. The system uses email, phone, and text messages
to provide effective emergency communications to the college community,
both on and off campus. To opt in, click on the emergency messaging
system link in the Web Resources channel on the
MyFIT tab.
