A colorful cascade of inexpensive, mass-produced youthquake fashions flooded the American market in the 1960s. Mass marketers, alert to profitable trends, worked with British designers to bring the London Look to eager young consumers. Capitalizing on the selling power of anything Mod, companies promoted these styles using images of pop culture icons, such as Twiggy and the Beatles.
