Mrs. C. Phillip Miller
née Florence Lowden
1898 – death date unknown
The granddaughter of George Pullman, inventor of the Pullman
railroad car, she was a debutante in 1917, sat on the board of
the Art Institute of Chicago, and was presented to British court
in 1927. Mrs. Miller began donating her clothing to the Chicago
History Museum in 1935. The collection includes more than 150
dresses by Vionnet, Callot Soeurs, Paquin, and Chanel.
