				Mrs.
				Colin Powys Campbell
				née Nancy Lathrop Carver Leiter

				1872 – 1930

Nancy and her sister, Mary, were daughters of Levi Leiter, a
businessman who made his fortune in dry goods and real estate.
Mary married British aristocrat, Lord George Curzon, who later
became Viceroy of India. While the sisters were traveling in
Delhi in 1902, Nancy met Lieutenant Colonel Colin Powys Campbell
of the British Army, who later became her husband. Many garments
worn by Mrs. Nancy Campbell survive in the costume collection of
				the Chicago History Museum. |
