The intricately pleated panels of Jane Régny’s evening dress invite viewers to take a closer look at the designand thus the wearer. Nude-toned silk fabrics were especially popular for evening gowns in the 1930s, and when combined with the sensual drape of the bias cut, these dresses almost seem to be extensions of the skin.
