Czech fashion designer Šárka Šišková discusses her philosophy of fashion and her sources of inspiration. Šišková is head of the Fashion Design Department at Tomas Bata University in Zlin. Her designs are in the permanent collections of the Museum of Arts and Design in Prague and The Museum at FIT. One of her dresses is featured in the MFIT exhibition Seduction.

Join exhibition curator Colleen Hill (or associate curator Molly Sorkin) as she explores the historical significance of seductive fashion from the eighteenth century to the present. The curator will show how seductive dress has been worn throughout history to convey heightened allure, and will discuss the inherent sensuality created by clothing’s proximity to the body, with examples of how it is expressed through an interplay of exposure and concealment.
