Jamie Casbon received his BFA in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. He has interned at the Museum of the City of New York and the Textile Conservation Laboratory at the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine, and works at the Ralph Lauren Archives. During his studies and internships, Jamie has focused on textile conservation and collections management, with a particular focus on methods of wet cleaning textiles.
Christian Hernandez received his BA in Fashion Communications from Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario. He has interned or worked at private collections, as well at the Textile Museum of Canada, the Bata Shoe Museum, the Calvin Klein Archives, the Textile Conservation Laboratory at the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine, and the Brooklyn Children's Museum. Throughout his work, Christian has focused on collections management with a strong interest in textile conservation.
Donna Ho received her undergraduate degree BA from UC Davis and her MFA in creative writing from NYU. She interns at the Textile Conservation Laboratory at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, and teaches poetry in Cooper Union's Saturday Program architecture class. One of her current projects is the conservation of Chinese embroideries containing metal threads.
Tracy Jenkins received her BFA in Painting from Rhode Island College. She has worked in the Exhibition Departments of the RISD Museum and the American Museum of Natural History. She has interned at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, The Museum at FIT, and the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Her qualifying paper will examine the Charivari boutiques, the first of which opened in New York in 1967.
Christopher Mazza holds a BA in Cultural Studies from George Mason University and an MFA from the University of Alaska, Anchorage. He has worked in object conservation for over a decade and has entered the MA program at FIT to pursue his growing interest in textiles. Christopher is currently interning at the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum and working at Rafael Haroch Studio, a private contractor to Christie’s Auction House. He has an interest in archaeological and ethnographic textiles.
Christa Molinaro received her BA in Anthropology from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, with a minor in Sociology. Before attending FIT, she interned in the Costume & Textiles department at The Charleston Museum in South Carolina. She is currently the permanent collection Cataloguer at the Whitney Museum of American Art.
Alyssa Perry received her BA in Art History from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. She has held internships at the Portland Art Museum, the Calvin Klein Archives, and the Wadsworth Atheneum. Upon completion of the program, she plans to work in collections management.
Jessica Pushor received her BA from the University of Arizona in Tucson Arizona, with a major in Art History and a minor in Museum Studies. She has also received an AAS Degree in Fashion Design from Phoenix College. She has worked at the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum, and has interned at the Arizona State Museum, The Lower East Side Tenement Museum and at the Merchant House Museum.
Katie Sabo holds a BA in History from Reed College. She has worked with historical garments at Augusta Auction Co., the Calvin Klein Archive, and the Textile Conservation department at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Her qualifying paper examines the socio-cultural aspects of lace collecting in Progressive Era New York City and its implications for museum acquisitions in the early 20th century.
Valerie Shaffer obtained a BA in Film and Media arts from Temple University. She pursued her dream of working full-time on a sailboat for the South Street Seaport Museum. Valerie is also currently working for Condé Nast archive, where she is currently pursuing her other dream of being surrounded by every issue of Vogue ever published.
Anna Yanofsky received a BA in English with a minor in art history from Rutgers University. After graduation, she developed the site www.iwanttowearit.com, which she has maintained for the past five years. Anna recently curated the exhibition Incomparable Women of Style: Selections from the Rose Hartman Photography Archives, 1977-2011,, which was the inaugural exhibition in the gallery of FIT's Gladys Marcus Library. She is currently working as an Archives Assistant for the newly launched Vogue Digital Archive, and is helping to maintain the Calvin Klein photography archives. She is also interning at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Cassidy Zachary received her BA in Costume Design from the University of New Mexico. Before attending FIT, she was a costumer for film and television. She has held internships at New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, the FIT Library in the Special Collections and FIT Archive Department, and the Museum at FIT. Her qualifying paper will examine the life and work of Ethel Traphagen, founder of the Traphagen School of Fashion.
Christine Zhu received her BA degree from Rhodes College with a concentration in art history. She has held internships at various fashion archives in New York City including Calvin Klein, Coach, and currently at Opening Ceremony as well as co-curated the exhibition: Out of the Shadows: The Fashion of Film Noir at NYPL Museum of the Performing Arts.
