Film director Cecil B. DeMille released Cleopatra in 1934, sparking a fad for all things Egyptian. Nearly three decades later, another film about Cleopatra was released, this time starring Elizabeth Taylor. David Evins designed Taylor’s elaborate shoes for the film, though
they were rarely glimpsed beneath her long gowns.
